An exciting opportunity has become available and we are now looking for a driven and self-disciplined Legal Support Officer to join our close-knit team. Reporting to the Client Services & Operational Support Manager, your role will play an integral part of our business by delivering high quality service to different stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
As a Legal Support Officer, your role will entail:
- Litigation Management: Oversee and efficiently manage a portfolio of customer accounts, diligently monitoring and controlling legal action to optimise debt recovery efforts
- Legal Documentation: Prepare, review, and file legal documents, including statements of claim, default judgments, summonses, and other relevant legal correspondence.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate seamlessly with internal teams, external legal partners, and customers to negotiate settlement and payment plans, and implement effective debt recovery solutions.
- Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements, industry codes of practice, and company policies throughout the debt recovery process.

About you:
The ideal candidate will have previous exposure to legal processes within Debt Recovery/Collections and/or Financial Services. In addition, you will also have:
- Prior experience in managing legal proceedings, including drafting legal documents, conducting research and representing organisations in court will be highly regarded
- Strong knowledge of the NCCP Act and other debt collection laws, practices and strategies is crucial in this role
- Experience building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders
- An astute nature with high levels of accuracy and strong negotiation capabilities
- Proven ability in analysing financial data, credit reports and relevant documents
- Strong problem solving and customer service skills
- The ability to demonstrate integrity, quality and caution whilst protecting the brand
