- Certificate IV or higher in Leisure & Health or Diversional Therapy (Desirable), Minimum Cert III in Aged Care (PCA) and willing to undertake studies in Leisure and Health or equivalent
- Annual Basic Life Support Certificate.
- Experience in Residential Aged Care is desirable.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, carers, staff and others.
- Ability to demonstrate a person-centred approach to their work with residents
- Demonstrate an ability to work within a Multidisciplinary team, and provide flexibility when working with residents with a variety of physical, behavioural and cognitive needs
- Knowledge of the Montessori philosophy or equivalent resident-centred care program and how this changes the provision of care to residents.
- Ability to utilise computer software, particularly use of the Microsoft Office© suite.
- Demonstrate an ability to develop and review Resident Care Plans.
- Demonstrated evidence of commitment to ongoing education and professional development to ensure working within current scope of practice.
