About this opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced professional to lead and manage the Published collections team within the Collection Acquisition & Curation Branch. This team is responsible for developing the State Library’s Published Collections, print and digital, current and retrospective, including online resources, rare or secondhand books and the appraisal of large complex private collections on offer. All acquisitions are considered in accordance with the Library's Collection Development Policy. The team also participates in a range of curatorial activities, including collection analysis, interpretation, and promotion to meet the State Libraries strategic priorities and enhance access.
About you:
We are looking for someone who can provide expert advice on identification, selection, and assessment of collection material. You’ll have strong written and verbal communication skills, and be able to develop and maintain relationships with a range of different stakeholders. You’ll have experience in leading and developing a team, as well as leading projects and owning pieces of work. You’ll also have qualifications acceptable for professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA), or relevant tertiary qualifications and experience working in a collecting institution.
