We are looking for a passionate and dynamic Teacher Librarian to join our existing team in our Senior Library for a contract, term time only commencing 3rd June,2024 and concluding Friday 6th December,2024.
The primary responsibility of the Teacher Librarian is to encourage skilled use of library and digital resources by staff and students in ways which develop positive attitudes to reading and life-long learning as well as encourage critical thinking.
The Teacher Librarian liaises with subject departments to integrate the use of the library within the curriculum and supports the wide reading program. The Teacher Librarian also assists the Head of Library & Information Services with the day-to-day operation of the Senior School library and may be involved in the planning and implementation of new services.
Experience/Qualifications:
- NESA Accreditation
- Qualifications in Teacher Librarianship, recent graduates or individuals currently studying Masters of Information Services are encouraged to apply.
- Experience as a Teacher Librarian desirable but not essential
- An ongoing commitment to professional learning
- A commitment to pastoral care and meeting the social and emotional wellbeing needs of students.
- A commitment to the educational needs of young men
- A commitment to collaborative teaching practices and an ability to contribute to a team and faculty of professional educators.
- An ability to use ICT to facilitate and enrich student learning and engagement beyond the classroom.
- NSW Working with Children Check
The successful candidate will be required to carry out one evening shift until 8pm per week.
