Linux Administrator

Our medium size, dynamic Financial Software House specialising in the Real Time Trading Software have an immediate need to boost the Systems Administration (RedHat Linux / Windows) Team. You will be a creative and passionate about Technology and able to Support and Administer, Upgrade Tin and Tools (if need be). Happily take a blunt fringe, bike rider, slightly awkward op shopper and an ego less person happy to get on with the job without any fuss .... !

Responsibilities

• Configuring and maintaining the Linux Networks, including Hardware, Systems, Software, and Applications
• Manage Network Servers and Technology tools
• Implementing Automation via Scripts
• Set up accounts and workstations
• Monitor performance and maintain Systems according to requirements
• Ensure Security through Access controls, Backups and Firewalls
• Managing Upgrades and Patches
• Ensuring Data Security
• Diagnosing and resolving Hardware, Software, Networking, and System issues
• Replacing and Upgrading defective or outdated components when necessary.
• Researching and recommending new approaches to improve the Network
• Providing Technical support when needed

Essential skills:

• Excellent communication skills
• Administration skills.
• Strong RedHat Linux Skills / RHEL
• Shell Scripting.
• Some DevOps experience including working with Configuration Management tools
• IT security experience

Highly Desirable:

• Excellent communication skills
• Experience with Virtualisation technologies. (VMware, OpenStack)
• Familiar with Active directory.

You will hold a degree in the IT domain and;

• Be detail orientated and outcome focused.
• Enjoy working both collaboratively and independently.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills.
• Be able to understand what's most important at any given time.
• Have solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Want to research and learn new technologies.
