Capgemini Engineering, a global leader in engineering services, is hiring a highly skilled and results-oriented Systems Administrator to join our engineering team. In this pivotal role, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation, stability, and security of our IT infrastructure, supporting a range of Windows, Linux, and VMware environments.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively manage, maintain, and support on-premises Windows and Linux servers, ensuring optimal performance and maximizing system uptime.
- Implement and administer Active Directory, Group Policy, and user accounts to enforce industry-leading security best practices and streamline user provisioning.
- Oversee the VMware vSphere environment, including provisioning, configuration, and ongoing administration of virtual machines, storage, and network resources.
- Establish and execute comprehensive system backup and disaster recovery procedures to minimize downtime in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
- Conduct regular system monitoring and troubleshooting to identify and resolve performance issues efficiently.
- Maintain system security by applying timely security patches and updates while adhering to rigorous organizational security protocols.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and best practices to ensure knowledge transfer and maintain operational continuity.
- Provide exceptional technical support to end-users, resolving inquiries and troubleshooting technical problems effectively.
- Minimum of 6+ years of experience in a system administration role within a technical environment.
- In-depth understanding of Windows Server administration and a strong foundation in Linux administration.
- Proven experience with VMware vSphere, including virtual machine management, storage, and networking.
- Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy configuration and administration is highly regarded.
- Demonstrated proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell and Bash to automate administrative tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently while also thriving in a team-oriented environment.
