About the role
This position will predominantly be servicing public litter bins which include park bins, street bins, compound bins in a safe and efficient manner. Other duties include bin maintenance/delivery, litter picking and district clean-ups. Correct manual handling techniques and safe operations of machinery is essential.
The successful candidate is also required to be willing to learn and assist other areas of the Waste team such as safe and efficient operation of Rear and Side Loader vehicles to collect general waste, FOGO and recycling bins as well as bulk waste from verges within the City of Swan as required while adhering closely to health and safety policies, procedures and regulations.
Be an effective member of the Waste Services team in providing a consistently reliable and efficient services to customers with a commitment to a high level of customer service. The Litter Control Operator will utilise strong customer service and negotiation skills to respond to internal and external customer requirements and issues, as well as obtaining the best value outcomes for the maintenance of the City's assets.
Be available to undertake work in line with roster requirements and, to work public holidays and overtime as necessary.
About you
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Current HR class Drivers Licence
- A satisfactory National Police Certificate is required
- Experience complying with relevant Work Health and Safety legislation and working in a safe and efficient manner, having regard to own safety, the public and that of other workers
- Experience and knowledge of safe and efficient operation of heavy vehicles

The salary for this position will be from $67,835 to $70,955 per annum plus weekend & public holiday penalties, depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
