What You Will Be Doing

An ongoing position exists for an experienced locomotive maintainer at Rio Tinto's 7 Mile Rail Facility. In this role, you will be required to

  • Perform fitting and mechanical maintenance tasks, from overhauls and major engine servicing, bogie overhauls and fitment, to minor level servicing and provisioning.

  • Perform emergency repairs to locomotives.

  • Replaces locomotive and diesel engine components including but not limited to wheels or trucks, traction motors, springs, couplers, draft gear assembly, gear cases, cylinder heads, air compressors, and turbo chargers

  • Perform daily service of locomotive units: fuels, waters, lubrication and oils.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar position

  • Relevant Australian recognised trade certification

  • 2 + years post trade experience in a similar role

  • Manual C Class Australian issued Drivers Licence (minimum)
