Full time ( Medical or Legal Secretary is required for an Occupational Therapy Medico-Legal Assessment Team.(Negotiable remuneration based on experience).
ABC Rehab has been providing OT services since 1984.
- Office administrative experience is a MUST. Past experience in medical/legal terminology is a desirable.
- You will be required to learn the litigation process and the legal and medical/therapeutic procedures that support such, as provided by the ABC Rehab team.
- You must be able to type using word, excel and email systems.
- You will be required to read and summarize extensive medicolegal briefs, the latter which will be unique, and it will involve critical thinking. This includes the preparation of briefs for court. Thus, the successful applicant must show self-initiative, attention to detail, the ability to solve problems and to follow through with inquires.
- You will need to liaise with clients in terms of appointments, medical and health personnel, legal practitioners and court personnel, using well-defined office procedures. Diary/calendar management is required.
- You will need to maintain the email account correspondence, replying diligently to all correspondence, and filing in the mandated folders. Managing client’s records is a MUST (electronic & hard copy filing), with consideration of the privacy act.
- You will need to assist the company bookkeeper with billing/invoicing.
- You will need to keep spreadsheets up to date, and accurate.
- You must have a pleasant phone and front desk manner, establishing a good rapport with all personnel, including the ABC Rehab team.
- You will need to arrange travel, including flights, accommodation & car hire, while checking any travel restrictions prior to making any travel bookings.
- You will need to maintain a professional, ethical, safe and friendly work environment, and you will need to initiate & facilitate routine office requirements as needed, as assigned to you by the OT Director.
- You will need to advise of any scheduled time off well in advance. If unwell, the office staff and the OT Director will need to be notified, as soon as possible so that other arrangements for that day can be made.
- You will need to demonstrate a friendly, sharing, co-operative, loyal and respectful attitude to work in this team of secretarial/administrative support persons, with an understanding that feedback from the OT Director (or others) will be imperative for the business to successfully grow. You will need to perform all duties to the best of your ability & knowledge.
This position is available on a full-time (40 hrs / week) employment basis with 6 months probationary period. You will be required to work 40 hours a week over Monday-Friday in the Surry Hills Office, 100m from Central Station.
