About us
We are an specialist Orthopaedic Medical practice that provides patient consultations and general orthopaedic surgery services as well as specialised foot & ankle surgery to the Port Macquarie region. Our practice provides services to a large number of people and is dedicated to providing the highest level of health care. Our medical rooms are located in a health precinct in Port Macquarie and is shared with another orthopaedic practice. The successful applicant will be employed on a permanent part-time basis for 2-3 days per week and will work alongside our senior secretary to train for the position. After this time, the position will be a job share arrangement with one or two days overlapping. Our workplace is a friendly and supportive environment to work within and enhance knowledge and skills in the area of orthopaedic administration.
Qualifications & experience
- Proficient computer and typing skills, communication and organisational skills essential
- Medical secretary experience desirable
- Experience with Genie software desirable
- High level attention to detail
- Must be able to multi task
- Be compassionate and uphold patient confidentiality
Tasks & responsibilities
- Answer phones and greet patients
- Process patient billing
- Book patient appointments
- Maintain electronic patient files
- Liase with hospitals, other specialist practices
- Typing of consultation letters, operation reports and medical reports
