Machine Operator - Mattress Quilting

We are seeking a Machine Operator to become part of the A.H. Beard team.

This is a full-time permanent position based out of our facility in Padstow. 

The successful applicant will be responsible for: 

1. The production of Mattress Quilting panels through the operation of a panel quilting machine  
2. Ensure all panels and other components are of a superior quality to ensure quality assurance STD are met. 
3. Recording panel wastage (crop-outs) and identifying opportunities to minimise waste.
4. Recording raw materials usage and availability 
5.  Completing operator maintenance to ensure the safety and functionality of the quilting machine. 
6. Assisting in other areas of the mattress manufacturing process if required 

To be successful in the role you must possess mattress manufacturing experience, specifically, you must possess experience operating a quilting machine. 

If you do not have experience, you will not be contacted for an interview. 

1. Be available to workday shift – 6am start and be available to work overtime as required. 
2. Be Physically fit and demonstrate a capacity to lift and carry raw materials and finish components as required. 
3. Be willing to work in a team environment. 
4. Be able to work flexibility within tight time schedules and in accordance with variable workloads demands. 
5. Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to adapt to new situation and challenges. 

You will need to supply two work-related referees, one of which will be used to validate your experience in operating a panel quilter. 

As part of the recruitment process, you will be to undertake a pre-employment medical. 

An attractive and rewarding above award hourly rate is on offer. The pay rate of pay will depend on your skills and prior experience in the role and will range between $27-$32 per hour and is dependent on experience. 

Overtime paid at penalty rate is also regularly available.
