We are a large family operated Dairy farm milking around 1400 cows across 2 dairies
We operate over 5,000 acres and are constantly looking to make our land more efficient.
We are a mostly pasture based farm, however look to move towards some more cropping to reduce costs and improve efficiencies.
Qualifications & experience
- Applicants are expected to be able to work independently, maintain machinery and make decisions regarding machinery maintenance.
- Applicants a preferred to have a minimum 2 years experience working farm machinery and a background understanding agriculture.
- Applicants should already possess a Chemical user's license, training for this may be provided to the right applicant.
Tasks & responsibilities
Day-to-day tasks will involve:
- Machinery inspections and maintenance.
- Operating machinery under industry OH&S standards.
- Machinery to operate include but not limited to: Horsch Avatar disc seeder 6mt w/GPS, Hardy 24mt Boom spray w/integrated GPS, discing, ripping, mowing, raking, baling, excavating, hay carting, some on farm trucking.
- In quiet periods some general farm maintenance and/or machinery pre-season maintenance work would be required.
