About the Role:

As the Aluminium Extrusion Maintenance and Process Improvement Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and reviewing all aspects of Maintenance and engineering operations within our aluminium extrusion facility. Your primary goal will be to ensure the continuous and efficient operation of machinery and equipment, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. You will provide recommendations to the business on ways to improve efficiencies of the operation. You will lead a team of technicians, develop preventive/predictive optimisation schedules, and coordinate with production team and national engineering manager to optimize equipment performance.

To be considered for this position you MUST:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial maintenance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in maintenance management, preferably in the aluminium extrusion industry or a similar manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of aluminium extrusion equipment and Processes.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team and collaborate with cross-functional departments.
• Proficiency in preventive/predictive maintenance techniques and practices.
• Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery and equipment.
• Familiarity with maintenance management software systems is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to safety and compliance with regulatory standards

PRIMARY ACCOUNATBILITIES

• Lead and manage a team of technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient operations.
• Review existing processes and procedures devising ways to improve output and efficiencies from production equipment.
• Develop and implement preventive & predictive programs for all aluminium extrusion equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
• Devising strategies on minimising downtime.
• Coordinate with production and engineering departments to Process Improvement activities, balancing operational requirements with efficiency needs.
• Assist and manage the inspections of machinery and equipment to identify maintenance needs and address them proactively.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and breakdowns, implementing corrective actions to minimize disruptions to production.
• Oversee the ordering and inventory management of spare parts and maintenance supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels at all times.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures in all activities, promoting a culture of safety among the Maintenance and optimisation team.
• Collaborate with external contractors and vendors as needed for specialized machinery tasks or repairs.
• Continuously evaluate and improve processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Collaboration: Work closely with extrusion business manager, production, training and Process engineering teams to optimize equipment performance and resolve maintenance-related issues promptly.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for Process Improvements, cost reduction, and equipment upgrades.
• Other key accountabilities appropriate to the position as determined by the manager of the role.
