ABOUT THE ROLE AND CLIENT
Our client is a Queensland Local Government agency. They are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance and Security Support Officer for their office based in Brisbane's Southside. This role is a short-term opportunity that will see you being a member of the Security Team, providing security in the City Administration Centre precinct, and maintenance of assets within.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITY
Monitoring public areas to ensure safe and welcoming environment for public and staff
Monitor the City Administration Centre precinct and other council facilities to ensure any potential risk to the public or any potential failure of plant or equipment is identified and actioned
Provide assistance to the Security Team Leader and Maintenance Officer in relation to the provision of security, asset maintenance and building services
Where required, provide after-hours on call service to attend security breaches, alarms and maintenance issues at Council sites
Provide logistical assistance at various civic functions and to the Disaster Co-ordination Centre as required
Some ad-hoc, after hours and on-call duties as required
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated experience in the security industry is necessary
A Queensland Security Licence (Class 1) with supporting evidence that competency has been achieved in the modules of Crowd Controller, Unarmed Security Officer and Monitoring Security Officer is necessary
Ability to maintain accurate records and well developed oral and written communication
Demonstrated ability in the use of computers or familiarity with the concepts of technologically based systems
The ability to physically cope with maintenance work and manual handling activities
Demonstrated understanding of the implications of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011
The ability to communicate and deal with the public and other staff at all levels with tact and understanding, and to make prompt reliable decisions within bounds of allocated responsibilities
Current First Aid and CPR Certificates, or the ability to renew/acquire
