Your new role
To provide the primary source of asset management, including high-level advice, in relation to the performance of contracts, contractors and programs together with the condition assessment, repairs and maintenance, refurbishment, replacement and construction of housing assets. The position maintains compliance with relevant statutory regulations through delivering a high level of services to the portfolio.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Provide contract administration and project management, including raising of work orders, maximising budget utilisation and schedule of rates, whilst providing a timely service to client agency
- Ensure asset condition inspections are conducted and repairs are identified and recorded in departmental systems
- Monitor and advise management on the performance, timeliness, and workmanship of contractors, and conduct contractor meetings including recording performance
- Monitor accuracy of asset and other relevant data within departmental systems and prepare reports and other documentation as required
- Ability to work with contractors, emergency teams, and other stakeholders in cases of natural disasters/critical incidents or other events as may be required, occasionally afterhours
- Respond positively to change with a commitment to ongoing improvement and professional development
What you'll need to succeed
- A relevant qualification or relevant experience in a field of technical work closely related to the duties of the vacancy
- Comprehensive knowledge in contract administration, budget management, project management and procurement practices
- Knowledge and understanding of legislation, standards and codes associated with the construction, maintenance and management of residential properties
- Proficiency in computer software including spreadsheets, data bases and word processing, the ability to interpret/analyse data, produce high level technical reports and convey essential issues to technical and non-technical personal
- Solid written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution
- The ability to provide services in a culturally sensitive manner and interact effectively with people from diverse cultures, including experience working in remote Aboriginal communities
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks, work effectively with minimal supervision, exercise sound judgement and maintain confidentiality, while responding positively to change with a commitment to ongoing improvement
- A drivers licence and willingness to travel, with overnight stays
What you'll get in return
This role is a T5 designation. Salary range is between $99,083 - $107,885 + superannuation, per annum.
