We’re on the hunt for a strategic thinker and strong people leader to join our Snack Brands Australia team in the role of Maintenance and Engineering Manager. Reporting to the Site Operations Manager, this game changing role will be based at our Blacktown and Orchard Hills manufacturing sites working on a permanent basis.

About the Role:


As part a large growth project, we are looking for an Engineering & Maintenance Manager to join the team. Primarily based at our Blacktown facility, this will be involved in the transition project team, relocating equipment, de-commissioning existing plant, shaping the future engineering & reliability team along with leading a team on site. At Blacktown, you will be responsible for managing the site’s engineering and maintenance resources (employee and external vendors) to achieve maximum equipment availability and reliability whilst providing a safe and efficient manufacturing environment.

You will also set the strategic direction of the function and drive an engaged and motivated team to deliver performance outputs.


You’d be joining the business as we embark of a period of significant growth and would be a key player in the team creating our future with our new world class manufacturing facility!

What you’ll be responsible for:


  • Leading a maintenance and reliability team onsite, owning safety, planned work execution and equipment performance.
  • Lead the site through a ‘transition with excellence’ period into a purpose built, state of the art manufacturing facility.
  • Developing your team and be a true leader driving the success of the team.
  • Forward thinking and ensuring preventative maintenance program is in place.
  • Lead planning team in scheduled maintenance activities
  • Financial management and budgets for the department
  • Support continuous improvement efforts using Lean, DMAIC, Kaizen, Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Lead the team driving whole site improvements through excellent leadership
  • Actively maintain spare parts to ensure uptime across the site and ensure adequate stock control measures are embedded. 

What you’ll bring to the role?
  • Ideally 5+ years of proven experience in a leadership role
  • Ideally, qualified with a relevant qualification (ie: Engineering)
  • Experience working in a formal improvement methodology Lean/TPM/IWS
  • Sound understanding of technical issues and operational processes in relation to facilities management.
  • Proven experience in managing finances and budgets, supported relevant reporting and analysis.
  • Be a driver for continuous improvement processes
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, communication, and relationship building skills.
  • Exceptional organisational, time management and planning skills – you can juggle multiple balls at any time!
