Maintenance Fitter

Due to growth, an exciting opportunity has become available for a Maintenance Fitter to work within Australia's leading broadacre and seed company based in Toowoomba. 

Pay: $40-$45 per hour 
Hours: 8 hour shifts/ full time - times negotiable 
Contract: Casual/ temp contract with the possibility to go permanent 

As a Maintenance Fitter, you will be responsible for conducting a variety of mechanical tasks on machines, sub-assemblies, and manufacturing parts using diverse processes, tools, and machines.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Maintain and repair machines.
2. Interpret blueprints and mark the shape and dimensions of parts to be machined using measuring instruments.
3. Assemble and fit machined parts, including drilling holes and tapping threads for bolting parts together.
4. Check tightness of joints, operation of moving parts, and make final adjustments if necessary.
5. Cut, thread, bend, and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines.
6. Clean and lubricate assembled articles.
7. Shrink-fit parts during assembly using oxy-acetylene torches and presses.
8. Manufacture, repair, and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
9. Operate powered machines manually or through computer control.
10. Erect machinery and equipment on site.
11. Regularly inspect machinery, make adjustments, and conduct repairs as needed.

Preferred

• Trade qualification.
• MR Truck Licence.
• Forklift Licence.
• Possession of a current "C" Class driver’s licence.

To be considered for this role, you must have:

1. Knowledge and experience in safety procedures.
2. Experience with pneumatic-hydraulic work, fitting, and machine maintenance.
3. The ability to read and interpret plans.
4. Motivation with the ability to work autonomously and in a team.
5. Strong problem-solving, mechanical reasoning, and fault-finding skills.
6. Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards the job.
7. Sound proficiency in commonly used computer systems.
