Address About the role
We’re seeking self-motivated and confident Maintenance Fitter to join Austral Masonry® at our Yatala site in Queensland. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for emergency, corrective, preventative maintenance, continuous improvement and project work of machinery and equipment across the site.
Duties include but are not limited to:
• Carry out preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Ensure all activities are conducted in a safe manner, compliant with WHS policies and procedures.
• Support production by troubleshooting and resolving maintenance issues promptly.
• Undertake problem solving to resolve or repair issues to minimise the impact on production.
• Effectively plan all required maintenance tasks so that downtime is kept to a minimum.
• Complete required training to improve skills and proficiency as directed by management.
• Analyse plant breakdowns to identify root causes and recommend solutions.
• Maintain formal maintenance, change management, down time and quality records in accordance with company requirements and procedures.
• Perform additional duties as needed to maintain plant operations.
• Use hand tools to fit and assemble parts, showing knowledge of principles of Mechanics.
• Ensure the upkeep of plant mechanical assets for optimal equipment operation.
Success Requirements
• Mechanical Fitting Trade qualification (Compulsory).
• Experience in control systems, capacity to work with PLC’s, ability to read and understand Schematics (desirable).
• Work autonomously and adhere to deadlines, while also demonstrating excellent teamwork skills.
• Ability to complete multiple tasks with varying levels of priority to minimise downtime.
• Robotics, EWP Licence, Confined Space, and High-Risk Forklift Licence (Desirable).
• Positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
