Mount Scopus Memorial College is a co-educational Jewish School from Early Learning to Year 12 across three campuses; St Kilda East, Caulfield South and Burwood.
We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Officer to join the College, and be part of our Facilities Team. Reporting to the Property and Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Officer position is a hands-on role responsible for assisting with the day-to-day maintenance of all buildings and equipment including cleaning and grounds maintenance. This is a full-time position on a fixed term employment contract for 12 months commencing from 15 July 2024 working across all three campuses as required, initially based at our Burwood campus.
Previous experience in a similar role in a school environment is preferred. Strong experience in undertaking routine maintenance tasks along with strong communication and negotiation skills are essential, along with maintenance management, and basic document and spreadsheet applications (Microsoft and/or Google Suite) is required.
All applicants must have the right to work in Australia and must pass a Working with Children Check (Employee). A current National Police check (or the ability to obtain) will be required.
Being Jewish is not a prerequisite for employment, although a worldview that is sympathetic to the Jewish ethos is essential. Some knowledge of the Jewish Culture would be advantageous.
