We’re looking for a Maintenance Officer to join our team at Kirami Residential Aged Care on a permanent part-time basis. Some flexibility is required to be able to provide assistance for holiday and sick leave.
Our Maintenance officers carry out domestic/general maintenance functions as appropriate at our Kirami Residential aged care facility in Hervey Bay, engage and manage contractors for works authorised by the facility manager and oversee grounds maintenance and enhancement.
This position will see you providing general maintenance and gardening on a part time basis of Monday to Wednesday, then Monday to Thursday.
About You
With a background in general maintenance and gardening your skills & qualifications will include:
- Formal trade qualification or equivalent (desirable)
- Fire Safety Assessment (FSA) accreditation (willingness to obtain)
- Demonstrated experience and ability to perform domestic and general maintenance, including basic painting, plumbing, carpentry, minor repairs to equipment and the maintenance of large area grounds and gardens.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Good time management skills, including the ability to prioritise and follow through on tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety principles, for the care and safety issues related to tools, equipment, chemicals and electricity.
- Current Drivers Licence
- National Police Check
- COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate
- Immunisation against Tetanus, and Hepatitis B (or willingness to obtain)
