Due to an internal vacancy, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our maintenance team.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager on site, the Maintenance Planner is responsible for overseeing the preventative maintenance of our hydraulically driven hay press, fixed plant, equipment, and site maintenance. In overseeing the preventative maintenance program, the role will ensure that the hay press is operating at optimal efficiency, minimizing downtime and production delays. The Maintenance Planner will also be responsible for coordinating and supervising the activities of maintenance personnel.
Key Result Areas for which the Maintenance Planner is responsible:
- Review daily shift reports and site checklists to prepare work orders;
- Attend and inform management of any impending failures at the daily production meeting;
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance (MEX) procedures for the hay press, including regular inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and coordination of planned maintenance;
- Maintain the stores, to ensure inventory accuracy, manage rotatable parts, keep the stores catalogue up to date, manage the reorder levels, ensure that the store does not run out, carry out an annual analysis of max and min levels, ensure that drawing and stores catalogue match and manage the stores write off of obsolete items;
- Assist to troubleshoot technical problems with the hay press, identifying the root cause of problems and developing solutions to prevent reoccurrence;
- Monitor the performance of the hay press, identifying areas where efficiency can be improved and implementing solutions to optimize performance;
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including work orders, maintenance schedules, and equipment history;
- Collaborate with other departments, including production and quality control, to ensure that the hay press is meeting production targets and quality standards;
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements, and make recommendations for equipment upgrades or modifications as needed.

The successful person will require the following attributes:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or technical certification in mechanical or electrical maintenance preferred
- MEX Maintenance Software experience is highly valued
- Hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical experience would be advantageous
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other departments and coordinate the activities of maintenance personnel
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Flexibility to work occasional overtime or weekends, as needed Relevant ongoing training in all aspects of the manufacturing process and management systems will be provided to the successful candidate.
