Why This?
Most planning roles see you come into a mature environment with pre-existing processes, systems and ideas. Not here; you get to revamp, create them and drive their evolution.
You'll be asked to analyse, think, devise plans and strategies with the team and also have an eye on the future as you build these systems.
It's a high-performance, high-speed, 24/7 manufacturing site in a national group with big ambitions. You'll join focused, intelligent people on a journey to set the highest standards in the industry. And when you consider their customers you can see why.
After this? My experience placing people there since 2020 has been people who succeed are encouraged to move left, right and upward and the opportunities do come.
The Doing bit…
We want you to put the structure, systems, governance and smarts behind a changing and growing engineering & maintenance team facing the challenge of production output doubling by Jan 2025.
You'll essentially run 2 projects - revamping the existing line and raising the bar and concurrently planning for a brand new $80m line which has been 2 years in the making. Each line capable of hitting 33 units per second.
And you'll be a key player in the implementation of a new CMMS (this is an appeal to the systems nerd that could be within you).
The Culture Stuff…
The site leadership team is on-point. They are dialled in and know how to manage and develop top performers. They share things, guide when needed and allow others to try things out.
The HR people have worked very hard to put processes in place to recognise where learning and investment in people can be beneficial.
They live and breathe CI, LEAN, IWS and optimising things runs in their blood. They are competitive as anyone when it comes to Australian Manufacturing.
What we'd like from you…
- Trade background in a high-speed or high-urgency manufacturing environment.
- People skills - namely being able to collaborate, support, influence and partner.
- You naturally see improvements and constantly think about processes and ways to optimise them.
- You may already be a planner or you might be heavily involved in planning or CI as a senior trade or supervisor and wish to enhance these skills.
- You can make fast decisions with the information you have - it's not about perfection but constant iterations and learning.
