Tronox is recruiting for a Shutdown Maintenance Planner to join our Maintenance Team at our Chandala Mineral Sand Plant based in Muchea 

The position is offered on a permanent basis working a 9 day fortnight on a compressed 38 hour week. 

About the role

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Planner will be accountable to:

  • Effectively manage the shutdown workflow through the company dedicated CMMS to assist with shutdown preparation and execution
  • Prioritise and manage the backlog of work requests to ensure effective weekly shutdown plans and schedules are developed
  • Utilise a strategic planning approach to ensure long term maintenance and budget goals are established and met
  • Create and maintain effective relationships across a wide variety of functional areas
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Environmental, OSH and Registered Equipment legislation.
  • Assist with development of shutdown procedures and documents.
  • Ensure all regulatory/statutory requirements and company standards are incorporated in the shutdown preparation as required.
  • Identify isolation requirements to production team, and ensure permitting applications are correctly submitted on schedule during planning stage.
  • Development of shutdown work packs, work instructions and schedule.
  • Working with maintenance and production team to optimise shutdown plan.
  • Liaise with contractors and suppliers for the provision of equipment, materials, and services.
  • Undertake shutdown post review, lessons learned and shutdown close-out reporting

About you

To be successful in your application you will ideally need to possess:

  • Mechanical Trade Certificate 
  • 5 years shutdown or maintenance planning experience in a process plant
  • 5 years SAP Maintenance planning experience (required)
  • Mineral sands and mineral separation experience (desired)
  • Strong computer skills in Excel and MS project
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritise and work under pressure in a changing environment.
  • Valid Driver’s License
