Job description:
Discover your next step as the Maintenance Superintendent with our innovative Electrical Department. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Maintenance Superintendent will play a crucial role in the development, supervision, monitoring and review of the electrical engineering standards and procedures, forming part of the operations. They will also be responsible for the supervision of the installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of electrical plant at the Ravensthorpe Nickel Operation.
This is a preferred residential role working on a 5:2, 4:3 roster, living in Hopetoun WA which is nestled next to the Fitzgerald National Park. A relocation package and company housing will be provided to the successful candidate.
Key Accountabilities:
Direct management of Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance Supervisors;
Promote the development of sound engineering practices;
Dedicated commitment to health, safety and environmental responsibilities, ensuring compliance to Company Safety Standards and Procedures;
A clear understanding of preventative maintenance, planning, strong communication skills and a flexible ‘can do’ approach to work;
Perform failure investigations of critical equipment failures, with the aim of continuous improvement;
Provide technical direction and guidance for the maintenance teams;
Ensure maintenance team activities are aligned with the overall business objectives;
Maintain and efficient, motivated workforce;
Achieve daily planned maintenance targets;
Develop a core leadership team and provide mentoring of these key personnel; and
Responsible for a high availability of all mechanical equipment within the area.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
5+ years supervisory experience;
Non-restricted WA Electrical Licence;
Electrical contractors ticket, or able to acquire;
Electrical trade;
Knowledge of metallurgical plants: Copper, Cobalt, Nickel, Gold;
Broad knowledge of mine sites;
Instrumentation experience a must;
Self-motivated and conscientious;
Ability to read, understand and interpret mechanical & electrical drawings;
Ability to work with others and achieve objectives;
Commitment to continuous improvement;
Able to plan and effectively delegate to achieve desired outcomes and objectives;
Problem solving and analytical skills;
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people from diverse technical and workplace backgrounds;
Able to work within tight time constraints and deliver on deadlines: and
Schedule 26 appointed or will be required to obtain the qualification within a specified timeframe.
