Position Overview:
As a result of the remarkable success of our initial operations, we are in search of a motivated and proactive Maintenance Superintendent to join our project in Nathan River, Northern Territory. The role necessitates coordination of various maintenance functions across site and the ability to establish and maintain productive connections with clients and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance Planning:
Develop comprehensive maintenance plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define maintenance objectives and requirements including initiatives to monitor and improve reliability whilst minimizing breakdowns.
Project Maintenance:
Oversee the planning and execution of site maintenance functions including mobile maintenance.
Monitor and control maintenance to ensure it aligns with the project objectives.
Management of critical spares to ensure minimal down time.
Implement safety protocols and environmental standards to maintain a safe and sustainable working environment.
Team Leadership:
Lead, motivate, and manage a maintenance team including contractors internally and externally.
Foster a collaborative and safety-conscious work culture among team members.
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):
Enforce and promote a strong HSE culture in the workplace, emphasizing the importance of safety and environmental responsibility.
Monitor and report on HSE performance and compliance.
Budget and Cost Management:
Manage maintenance budgets, track expenditures, and implement cost control measures to optimize maintenance costs.
Report on financial performance and make recommendations for cost-saving initiatives.
Risk Management:
Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and environmental requirements.
Stakeholder Communication:
Communicate maintenance progress, issues, and updates to site leadership and relevant stakeholders.
Foster positive relationships with employees, sub-contractors and suppliers
Quality Assurance:
Ensure that maintenance functions meet quality and production standards.
Implement quality control measures and continuous improvement initiatives as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Australian Recognized Heavy / Mobile Plant Trade Certificate
• A minimum of 10 years in the mining industry with some supervisory experience
• The ability to ensure timely and cost-effective maintenance occurs in line with the project objectives.
• Strong computer skills and competency with maintenance related systems
• Familiarity with relevant mining regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to work in challenging and remote environments.
- Background as a diesel mechanic highly regarded.
