Built MG is a newly-established building company borne out of corporate restructure of Melisi Projects, which has been operating for more than 20 years in the successful delivery of residential dwellings & low/medium-rise developments in a number of locations across Adelaide. The origins of the company are family-based and this is strongly entrained in our culture – we are a tight, family-knit team and are heavily invested in our people. With a number of recently awarded contracts and a full pipeline of works for the foreseeable future, we are experiencing rapid growth and are looking to grow our team. We seek a driven and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to assist project teams with pre-handover finals and post-handover maintenance lists. This is an exciting, diverse and autonomous role that is specifically aimed at improving our product and service quality.
Key Responsibilities for the Role
Conduct maintenance works as identified by Site Managers as part of preliminary (pre-handover) defects inspections. Coordinate subcontractor engagement only as absolutely necessary – expectation would be that you will conduct most works yourself. Organise procurement of materials as necessary.
- Conduct maintenance works as identified by purchasers at handover and during their defects liability period.
- Contribute constructively to improvement in build practices in terms of communicated quality expectations, quality assurance processes conducted during the build phase, and construction detailing. Ultimately we want the maintenance phase to inform the construction phase on how things can be done better.
- Direct and regular liaison with purchasers/clients. Provision of regular updates on progress and forecast for works. Strive to provide the best possible service quality.
- Assist with construction phase activities when required or when at low utilisation.
Minimum Requirements for the Role
Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance and warranty within the building industry
- Competency and experience in conducting basic maintenance works, including but not limited to: gyprock patching, caulking, painting, eave lining, trimming out, small tiling rectifications
- Exceptional attention to detail and time management
- Excellent communication skills
- Commitment to customer service
- Sound understanding of building codes, regulations, manufacturer’s requirements and WHS requirements.
- Driver’s Licence
- White Card
- Be able to work collaboratively within a team of both office-based state and site staff
- A practical understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite (the database which we log & monitor job progress on is Microsoft Excel-based)
