ABOUT SO4

SO4 are driving toward the production of world class Sulphate of Potash (SOP). Our Lake Way asset is in the Goldfields region of Western Australia, 15 kilometres south of Wiluna. We are entering an exciting new phase in our progress, as we will be into our production ramp-up in a few days.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will be responsible for optimising performance, availability and safety of plant and non-process infrastructure, as well as supervising a team to ensure maintenance targets are achieved, statutory compliance is adhered to, and the continuity of production.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining the processing plant and non-processing infrastructure to ensure all mechanical equipment operates to maximum efficiency.
  • Conduct diagnostics and fault finding on fixed plant and infrastructure equipment as required to effect repair and maintain asset availability.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and industry standards and practices where applicable for mechanical installations and works on site.
  • Minimise lost production time due to unplanned stoppages through effective execution of planned maintenance of equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed mechanical work. This includes completion of work orders, logbooks, test sheets and cataloguing. 
  • Discharge of obligations under Section 26 of the Work Health and Safety Act 2020.
  • Compliance with Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022.
  • Accept statutory appointment as a Maintenance Supervisor and ensure compliance with associated statutory responsibilities.
  • Maintain a high standard of workshop housekeeping, workspace organisation and waste minimisation.
  • Coordinate and supervise the maintenance activity in processing and non-processing infrastructure to ensure productive and high-quality outputs.
  • Coordinate people and processes to ensure maintenance targets are achieved and provide feedback on the performance of each.
  • Coordinate and supervise regular inspection of equipment to assist in the identification of incidents, hazards, and defects, as well as ensuring damaged plant or equipment is repaired in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with the Maintenance Superintendent, and Processing Superintendent to prioritise maintenance activities to minimise production downtime.
  • Assist, guide, and mentor direct reports to assist in the advancement of knowledge, providing hands on assistance where required.
  • Ensure direct reports receive appropriate training and instruction to perform their work in a way that aligns with Australian legislation, Company policies, processes, and safe work instructions.
  • Actively engage and collaborate with cross-departmental colleagues and provide support to achieve the Company’s objective.
  • Proactive approach in roster coordination and effective team management, including participating in the recruitment of personnel, and driving a high level of performance throughout the team.
  • Effectively manage and coordinate short-term and long-term contractors.

ABOUT YOU

We are seeking a candidate with In-depth understanding of Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022. You will have experience leading a team of trade qualification professionals, and enabling the development of knowledge, experience, and skills across the team. You will possess 7-10 years’ experience in the field, including a minimum of 3-5 years’ working on processing plants with preventative maintenance programs and systems. You would have completed a Certificate IV Frontline Management and a minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience in a remote environment, with exposure to maintenance planning.

To be successful in the position, you will have:

  • Advanced experience with mechanical fault finding, including the ability to interpret plant and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) and general arrangement drawing (GAD).
  • Intermediate experience in fabrication.
  • Experience with hazard identification, risk assessment and incident investigation.
  • Proficiency in managing small and large fixed-plant shutdowns. 
  • Maintain a solid comprehension of Australian standards and legislative requirements governing mechanical works. 
  • Understanding of installation, testing and maintenance requirements.
  • Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Completion of minimum requirements to satisfy Section 26 statutory requirements. This includes attainment of Level 4 risk management competencies and meeting the requirements of the DMIRS mining law examination applicable to the position.
  • Current “HR” Class Western Australian driver’s license.
  • Confined Spaces (CS) and Working at Heights (HTS) certification.
  • Forklift (LF) and Elevated Work Platform (EWP) licence.
  • Non-slewing mobile crane (CN) and Perform Dogging (DG) licence.
  • Construction White Card
  • Advanced proficiency in Pronto.
  • Intermediate proficiency in business software knowledge, systems, and software. These include Aconex, INX, and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
