About the Role:
An exciting opportunity exists for a Mechanical Supervisor at our Riverina Processing Facility. The Mechanical Supervisor position reports to the Plant Engineer and has responsibility for a range of mechanical maintenance and installation projects, as well as general maintenance supervision activities associated with the operations of a fast-paced manufacturing facility. The position is hands on and requires the ability to lead and develop the other maintenance team members.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement maintenance plans.
- Monitor safe working practices in accordance with the workplace health and safety act and JBS policies and procedures
- Take a proactive role in understanding the root causes of downtime and working on solutions
- Ensure immediate reaction to breakdowns and urgent work;
- Liaise with the Plant Engineer and Maintenance Planner, work orders, work plans, technical information, inspection reports and other information.
- Ensure all mechanical documentation and schematics are securely retained, updated and maintained.
- Program and ensure all statutory requirements are met.
Criteria:
- Fitting & Turning qualifications, experience in pneumatics & hydraulics, refrigeration and steam
- Post trade plant maintenance and Supervisory experience, including planning and execution and documentation
- High level of competence in fault finding and rectification of mechanical systems and components
- Sound knowledge and application of workplace health and safety regulations
- Ability to provide leadership guidance and direction to maintenance personnel, including Contractor supervision
- Ability to contribute to the development of knowledge, skills and abilities of members of the maintenance team including apprentice
