The Opportunity
We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Major Maintenance Project Specialist to join our Engineering and Planning team in Perth, WA or Brisbane QLD on a Permanent Full Time Contract.
Reporting to the Maintenance Delivery Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful execution of Maintenance Projects. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and maintenance personnel to develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets. Your expertise in project controls will be vital in monitoring and analysing project performance to identify areas for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project controls systems, including planning, scheduling, cost control, and progress tracking.
- Collaborate with project teams to define project objectives, deliverables, and key milestones.
- Create detailed project schedules using industry-standard software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
- Analyze and report project cost performance, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Conduct regular project reviews to identify deviations from the plan and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide guidance and support to project teams regarding project controls best practices.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including change orders, progress reports, and cost estimates.
Your background
- Background in engineering, construction management or maintenance, ideally in petrochemical or related industry.
- Proven experience as a project controls specialist in the maintenance field.
- Proficiency in project planning and scheduling software (Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, etc.).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Good attention to detail with project controls and schedules
About the Team
Operating APA’s energy infrastructure requires technical solutions and sustainable operating decisions everyday. The Major Maintenance Team supports operations to optimise maintenance, inspection and reliability improvements for APA facilities.
The newly formed Major Maintenance team delivers reciprocating and turbomachinery overhauls across APA’s transmission and power assets. From single units to whole of plant outages, we focus on best practice planning, safety and quality management to deliver the ongoing performance and reliability our customers expect.
