Ngurra Kujungka Inc is an award winning, not for profit, community driven organisation that delivers a unique program to remote Aboriginal communities in the hot Western Desert, East Pilbara region of WA. Ngurra Kujungka’s program is community driven, focusing on health, sport and recreation for young Martu people.
About the role
An opportunity has arisen for a motivated, enthusiastic male to join our team as an Indigenous Sports Development Officer. You will be responsible to the Program Manager and supported to work with young people in communities independently and within a small team.

Your objective will be to deliver a variety of programs in the hot Western Desert, assisting to build community capacity and sustainability through established sport and recreation activities. You will mentor young male participants attending state sporting association training opportunities in Perth.
As Indigenous Sports Development Officer you will work 8 days on/6 days off, fly in/fly out, based at Ngurra Kujungka’s office in Port Hedland.
The vast area we cover will require consistent travel across distances between communities.
You will meet many enthusiastic young people and community members, keen to participate in our programs and the many opportunities they create.

Requirements
- Hold a current C Class unrestricted (manual) Driver’s Licence
- Hold a current Senior First Aid Certificate
- Be prepared to take part in 4WD training course.
- Hold a current Working with Children Check.
- Hold a current Police Clearance
- Pass a Medical test arranged by Ngurra Kujungka.
