Our objective is to make a positive difference in the health, employment, and wellbeing of Indigenous communities. We manage across Australia 54 Stores situated in the NT, NSW, QLD, SA, and WA region.
Primary Objective:
Working with Finance Manager and Team Leader to ensure accurate management and reporting of stores finances.
Key Responsibilities:
Review
Assist Finance Manager in review and reporting of stores financial data in a timely and accurate manner:
Profit and loss variance analysis;
Balance sheet reconciliation;
Stocktake and gross profit analysis;
Review and lodgement of BAS/IAS/PAYG;
Review stores payroll and superannuation;
Review stores insurance claims prior to lodgement;
Review and approve weekly payment runs;
Review end of month AP, AR and Cash reports with Assistant Accountant;
Assist Finance Manager to complete stores budgets.
Manage
Compile stores board reports within set deadline;
Manage stores Directors Reporting process;
Reconcile and manage the CBA (Community Benefit Account) process for stores;
Responsible for all communication with banks and all new account setups;
Communicate with auditors on timing of year end audits;
Communicate audit queries with Accounting Officers. Assist in the collation of data if required.
General
Bank and cash order authority;
Assist with the recruitment process for stores finance with Finance Manager, Management Accountant and HR;
Cover Finance Manager and Management Accountant when on leave;
Manage Accounting Officers when requested by Finance Manager;
Mentor Assistant Accountants;
Assist in implementing SAGE related projects to create efficiencies for the finance team;
Train and assist all stores finance staff on SAGE related projects;
Manage and maintain all policies and procedures and ensure efficiencies are reviewed regularly;
Carry out duties in accordance with Outback Store's safety, environmental and quality policy, safety principles, corporate values, Code of Conduct and strategies;
Any other tasks as required by the Finance Manager.
Competencies & Experience:
Formal qualification with significant accounting content;
At least 2 years previous accounts experience;
Good analytical and problem solving skills;
Understanding financial data and how to explain to non-financial personnel;
Ability to work in an unstructured environment;
Experience in audit/tax and or developing documentation and procedures would be desirable.
Qualifications required:
CA/CPA/Degree or Diploma of Accountancy or relevant experience;
Intermediate excel.
