Our Organisation

KPAT Hotels + Pubs is a hotel, pub, conferencing and restaurant owner and operator with geographical footprints in Toowoomba, Townsville and the Sunshine Coast. Although independently owned and operated we work with national and international hotel brands to deliver high quality experiences for our customers. We operate in a fast paced, heavy growth environment with further opportunities consistently being reviewed and are constantly looking to grow our organisation.

The Opportunity  

Reporting to the Hotels Financial Controller, we are seeking a highly dependable hotel Management Accountant to undertake day-to-day financial activities for hotel and pub venues businesses while also providing accounting support to the Hotels Financial Controller.

The duties will include but not limited to: 

  • Invoicing as required.
  • Maintaining and reconciling accounts payable including processing of supplier invoices for approval by managers and undertaking account payable payment runs.
  • Reconciliation of staff credit cards.
  • Undertaking end-of-month closure procedures including preparation of end of month reporting.
  • Preparing and issuing weekly venue management reports.
  • Data entry including daily sales data for pubs and hotels.
  • Liaising with Finance and Administration team at head office when needed.
  • Developing and updating processes and policies when required.
  • Some administration duties when required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you must have strong problem-solving skills and have experience in the accounting industry or in a similar role. In addition, you will have:

  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organisation.
  • Well-presented and groomed.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and resolve accounts-related issues and complaints.
  • Ability to be able to review existing processes and make recommendations to improve efficiency.
  • Experience in Xero is desirable but not essential.
