Founded in 1972, Narangba Timbers is known as Brisbane’s favourite timber merchant. Located in Narangba on Brisbane’s Northside, we supply a large range of timber products for an even larger range of applications, including Decking, Flooring, Landscaping, Structural Support and Cladding. Under new ownership over the last 5 years, Narangba Timbers has experienced consistent and steady growth, and has even bigger plans for exponential growth over the coming years. Who are we seeking?
Working alongside our Business Development Manager and Trade Account Manager, this role will have the following key responsibilities:
- Build and maintain relationships with a portfolio of trade customers through providing outstanding customer service. These accounts will be a mixture of long term existing customers and also new customers that our BDM has brought on board.
- Reactivate trade accounts that have previously shopped with our business through effective communication, respectful persistence and a thorough understanding of the needs of our customers
- Support customer enquiries including providing quotes and processing sales orders via various communication methods - phone calls, emails and website enquiries
- Use timber product knowledge and market research to effectively grow existing customers accounts through positive upselling techniques
- Use trade accounts data to develop and implement plans to execute growth opportunities
- Effectively manage priorities to achieve financial targets and budgets
- Liaise with suppliers to place and follow up on product orders to meet the needs of our customers
- Provide coverage for team members in our Sales Team
To succeed in this role, you will possess the following:
- Previous Business Development and account management experience being responsible for a portfolio of customers/ clients
- Proven abilities to work through hurdles with customers in order to regain their accounts and build long last working relationships
- A passion for thinking outside the square - we support our team to use their initiative and try new things - we take pride in setting ourselves apart from our competitors
- Demonstrated ability to grow sales through effective relationship building strategies
- Experience in achieving KPIs and sales targets
- Professional communication skills - both written and verbal
- A passion for continuous learning and development
- Experience in the timber/ building materials/ hardware industry will be highly regarded
