Armstrong Flooring is looking for enthusiastic and positive finance professional to join our Finance team at our Braeside head office and manufacturing facility. This is a newly established role to add depth to our experienced Finance team during a period of digital transformation and growth.

Armstrong Flooring is one of Australia’s oldest and leading distributors of hard flooring for both commercial and residential markets. Operating in Australia since the 1960’s, Armstrong Flooring is Australia’s only manufacturer of commercial vinyl flooring at its Braeside manufacturing facility, with a distribution centre in Queensland and national sales team. Having recently been purchased by a well known Australian family, the business is now planning for rapid growth in the Australian and New Zealand flooring market and is expanding its Finance team.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be working closely with our Financial Accountant and Plant Accountant to provide timely management reporting and financials, analysis, on-going support and guidance to drive performance and profitability of the business.
Duties may include (but not be limited to):
- Provision of accurate management and financial reporting on a timely basis, offering interpretation, analysis and financial insight
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Completion of month end accounting and control processes, including preparation of income statement by department and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support year end accounting processes including preparation of statutory accounts and associated external auditing processes
- Partner with respective internal business departments in the review of actual performance against budgets and prior year, identifying key drivers of performance
- Collaborate with internal teams to support business objectives, which includes supporting the implementation of a new finance operating system (Microsoft Dynamics)
About You
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Commerce
- CPA or CA qualified (or working towards qualification)
- 3 years accounting experience preferably in manufacturing
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics an advantage
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and manage competing workloads and priorities
- Friendly disposition and positive can do attitude
- High attention to detail
- Proficient computer skills including MS Office (particularly Excel) are essential
The role will provide the opportunity to grow and take on varied responsibilities. You will enjoy problem solving. You must have strong interpersonal skills as you will be liaising with staff at all levels in the organisation. Financial and study leave support will be available should you wish to seek CPA qualifications.
Remuneration $80,000-$100,000 per annum plus super. The role entails onsite parking and good working conditions.
