Job description

If you are tired of the hustle and bustle of the city, looking for a better work-life balance and seeking a lifestyle change, then this opportunity is made for you. Nestled just a couple of hours away from Melbourne and only an hour from Bendigo, Echuca/Moama awaits you. Situated on the banks of the majestic Murray River, Moama is one of the fastest-growing regions in NSW. With its close proximity to Echuca, both areas complement each other in amenities and facilities. Whether you choose to reside in Echuca or Moama, your commute to work is likely to be less than 10 minutes.

About the Opportunity

If you're seeking a role that is both challenging and rewarding, look no further. As the Management Accountant you'll report to an exceptionally experienced and proficient Chief Financial Officer with over 20 years of experience in local government, offering invaluable mentorship to professionals on their upward trajectory. Additionally, you'll be supported by a dedicated and qualified Financial Controller.

For those passionate about leveraging technology to drive efficiency, this role offers ample excitement. We're currently in the process of implementing technology to enhance our processes and efficiencies. With the recent transition of our finance function to a new ERP system, optimising its capabilities falls squarely within the scope of this role.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will primarily revolve around financial planning, encompassing tasks such as developing annual budgets, crafting 10-year long-term financial plans, and conducting quarterly budget reviews. In addition, you'll play a crucial role in supporting operational managers throughout their financial planning processes, providing guidance and assistance where needed. Generating insightful reports to help managers gauge their progress throughout the year will also be a key aspect of your role.

Furthermore, you'll be responsible for administering the back end of the financial system, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of data. Additionally, you'll provide support to the Financial Controller (FC) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) during month-end and year-end processes, including assisting with external audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.

This multifaceted role offers a dynamic blend of financial analysis, strategic planning, and operational support, making it an ideal opportunity for someone with a passion for numbers, technology, and people management.
