This Mining Services company has operations with major blue-chip mining companies in WA. They have landed some excellent projects over the past 18 months that will keep them sustainable for the next few years and are continuing to tender for more work. The finance team is hard-working, innovative and collaborative providing a great development opportunity for individuals who wish to utilise and expand their skill set in management accounting.
The Role
This position has become available due to growth within the business and the as new services come online the need to ensure costs are managed in a sustainable fashion. The company has won multiple projects and wants to ensure job costing is prudent and that their money is being spent in the right places to ensure profitability. For this, they require a Management Accountant to get stuck in and liaise with managers on-site in addition to conveying their findings to the Finance Manager and wider leadership team.
Duties
- Ownership and delivery of the month-end process including management reporting and variance analysis
- Working with internal stakeholders and the Finance manager to design group wide budgeting and forecasting
- Assisting with job costing and project reporting including month-end review with budget holders
- Setting up project-based budgets aligned to the contracts
- Ensuring KPI dashboards are maintained
- Preparation of financial and management reports to the Finance Manager
- Cashflow analysis and forecasting
- Liaising with multiple internal stakeholders
- Provide costing information to operational managers
- Reviewing site performance
- Comparing actual budgets with original budget forecasts
- General ledger reconciliations
- Liaison with auditors
- Ad-hoc duties as required
- Some financial modelling experience would be beneficial
- Experience in Mining Services/ EPCM would be a distinct advantage
- Exceptional attention to detail

- Experience with Microsoft Navision and/or Dynamix would be helpful
