Position Summary: The Financial Wizard will play a crucial role in the overall financial management of Taste Food Distributors. This position encompasses a broad range of financial responsibilities from strategic financial planning and analysis to hands-on management of our day-to-day accounting processes. As a key member of our team, you will ensure the financial health of our company by implementing robust financial practices and providing accurate financial information to support decision making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Oversight: Oversee all financial operations including accounts payable, receivables, payroll, and bank reconciliations. Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage annual budgets and forecasts, provide monthly financial reports, and budget adherence analyze variances to help guide business decisions.
- Strategic Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and modeling to support the strategic initiatives and growth opportunities of the business. Aim for a 10% year-over-year growth in profitability through effective cost management and revenue optimization strategies.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with statutory law and financial regulations. Prepare accurate quarterly and annual financial statements. Set company wide and individual metrics.
- Team Leadership and Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other team members to ensure a cohesive approach to business management. Provide financial insights that drive better business performance.
- Cash Flow Management: Manage the weekly cash flow of the company, ensuring there are sufficient funds available to meet the ongoing operational and capital investment requirements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain relationships with financial service providers, auditors, and consultants. Represent the company with investors and business partners.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. CPA or CMA preferred.
- At least 5 years of comprehensive financial management experience, in a small-medium sized enterprise and in the food distribution or retail environment.
- Experience working with large supermarkets such as Coles and Woolworths essential.
- Exposure to eCommerce platforms and digital transaction management is an advantage.
- Proficient in using financial software and advanced Excel skills. Experience with inventory management software (CIN7) is a distinct advantage.
- Strong understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage a bookkeeper with financial responsibility.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to present financial data to non-financial audiences.
