To provide high quality Occupational Rehabilitation services and Workplace Risk consulting to clients, including assessments, case management planning and implementation, related documentation and communication.


Key Accountabilities

  • Provide Occupational Rehabilitation services to the clients, including functional capacity evaluations, functional cognitive assessments, occupational performance assessments, worksite assessments, activity of daily living assessments, and other like assessments of employees to evaluate their occupational performance and to assess initial and ongoing levels of independence and implications for support as needed.
  • Liaise with employees, managers, treating specialists, to reach agreement on capacity, treatment plan and education regarding management of self and situation. Demonstrate a sound knowledge of services and a broad knowledge of treatment approaches.
  • Interpret and communicate assessment findings to participants, participants’ managers, team members and WorkCover Agents’ teams.
  • Define inherent requirements of jobs for clients, including interviews with people, analysis of tasks and preparation of documentation.
  • Prepare documentation of all assessments to high quality standards.

People Care - Case Management

  • Manage WorkCover cases and Care plan (early intervention) cases, including communicating with clients to provide guidance and agree on action plans to meet both the employees’ and employers’ short and long term goals.
  • Prepare return to work plans, offers of suitable duties, redeployment plans and care plans, to standards.
  • Facilitate and participate in case conferencing with specialists, WorkCover Agents’ teams and WorkCover Authorities. Consult formally and informally with other team members in co-ordinating the total rehabilitation program of the employee.
  • Monitor cases and employees’ response regularly and suggest modifications to treatment and rehabilitation to attain goals. Consistently demonstrate sound judgment in the evaluation, planning, implementation and follow-up of case plans.

Record Keeping

  • Maintain Case Management database, including registry of all new cases, registry of all assessments and summary of results, summary of all treatments relating to each case, treating specialists contact details, status of case and agreed action plan.
  • Store case management notes securely. Ensure confidentiality by undertaking not to reveal to any person or entity any confidential information relating to employees, clients, employees’ managers, policies, processes and dealings including making public statements relating to the affairs of us or clients without prior authority. Ensure case management notes that need to be destroyed are done so securely via the equipment provided.
  • Monitor incoming communication; liaise with the team to agree on actions required, save signed plans, information from Agents, information from clients relating to cases, in the database as needed.

Administration

  • Attend weekly case conference and monthly meetings as required.
  • Maintain time sheets and record billable times in the database according to required standards.
  • Maintain safe and clean work area. Ensure your computer is always locked when away from your desk.
  • No offensive material is to be downloaded at the Gallagher Workplace Risk office site (for example, pornography).
  • Maintain positive relationships and rapport with co-workers, employees, clients, WorkCover Agents’ teams and WorkCover Authorities.
  • Report to work on time and co-ordinate work schedule to achieve maximum efficiency.
  • Adhere to confidentiality standards.
  • Project a positive and professional image at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, for example assist in collating claims costs data from WorkCover Agents and Authorities.

  • Ongoing registration to the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) where required.
  • Make a meaningful impact while effectively relating to and supporting individuals who may be ill, disabled, mature, emotionally upset, or occasionally exhibit hostility.
  • Valid Driver’s License
