Your New RoleReporting to the Senior Manager, Governance
& Enablement - Operational Risk & Control, your new role enables, supports and facilitates assurance activities and continuous improvement of the end-to-end risk and control environment managed and overseen by the Operational Risk & Control team (OR&C) across the Fund Services Domain (excluding Technology Services).
Key duties include but are not limited to:- Develop and deliver a first line risk Control Testing Plan for the Domain that is in line with the requirements of the Fund's Controls Standard, taking into consideration other assurance activities (e.g. internal and external audit, second line assurance activities) and risk-based thematic opportunities.
- Manage and monitor the scheduling of the Control Testing Plan and facilitate adjustments where needed, ensure there is a consistent approach and quality of control testing performed by OR&C risk partners and / or other resources, and effectively communicate testing outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of the Fund's annual internal audit program.
- Facilitate the delivery of internal and external audit programs related to the Domain, working with OR&C risk partners to ensure appropriate engagement, resourcing and support by the business and OR&C as testing is being conducted, findings are being validated, and appropriate actions and timeframes are being agreed.
- Monitor audit findings and action plans to ensure these are recorded in the GRC system and, in consultation with OR&C risk partners, implemented appropriately and managed to agreed timeframes.
- Ensure OR&C risk practices are in line with the requirements of the Fund's risk management framework.
- Develop and deliver an ongoing plan to identify, prioritise and implement opportunities to improve delivery and consistency of OR&C risk practices, with consideration of the risk and control plan for the Domain, risk management framework reviews by Group Risk, GRC system enhancements and other priorities.
- Liaise and partner with Group Risk, other first line risk teams, Risk Platforms team and other stakeholders on changes to the Fund's risk management framework that impact the Domain, including facilitating feedback from risk partners and contributing to practical design.
What You'll Need- Relevant Tertiary and Industry qualifications and accreditations; B.Com, B. Fin or equivalent gained in Australia or overseas (post-graduate qualifications are also desirable)
- Experience guide (
7 years post graduate experience in Operational Risk, Enterprise Risk, Internal or External Audit, Business Analyst). * An understanding of prudential or markets regulations with respect to risk management and investment governance experience will be drawn from either first, second or third line of defense risk management functions from within major financial institutions, custodians, superannuation funds or an insurance office (specific investment functional exposure is an added benefit).
- Exposure to Internal or External Audit risk and control identification and testing practices / methodologies.
- Exposure to or experience with Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) and/or Financial Management systems.
- Strong analytical skills, problem-solving skills, organizational and planning skills with a high attention to detail.
- Strong written and oral communication / interpersonal skills with the ability to present ideas, perspectives and issues to senior management
- Strong engagement skills that reflect a professional, collegiate and engaging approach to risk management
