The City’s Community Development Directorate provides a broad range of facilities, services, projects, and events that directly impact the daily lives of our 224,000 residents and visitors.

About the Position
We are seeking an innovative and experienced Manager Customer and Communications to lead a committed team of professionals across the broad functions of Customer Experience, Marketing and Communications, and Arts and Events. The position is responsible for providing strategic and operational to support Council and the Executive.
The position operates within a dynamic working environment requiring the incumbent to be able to collaborate with Elected Members and the Executive as well as a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. The position can influence, shape, and lead organisational initiatives that improve the customer experience through digital transformation and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
The duties of the Manager Customer and Communications will include but are not limited to:
Leading corporate marketing and Communications across a wide range of traditional and contemporary mediums to ensure community awareness of and engagement with City services and activities.
Implementing the City’s Customer Engagement Strategy and other initiatives that further embed a customer focussed approach to service delivery.
Researching and analysing community needs and perceptions, and measuring customer satisfaction, as the basis for continuous improvement of City strategies, plans and services.
Maximising media opportunities and managing media exposure to protect the City’s brand, public image and reputation.
Providing strategic direction on the development and implementation of arts initiatives and community events that activate the City’s activity centres neighbourhoods and local places.
About You

Tertiary qualification in business, communication, marketing or related discipline and/or relevant experience in a similar leadership position
Strong leadership and people management skills and experience coaching multi-functional teams
Highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to build professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Highly developed knowledge of the media landscape and experience building strong working relationships with local media agencies
