Join our dynamic team at Scenic Rim Regional Council, where we are committed to fostering sustainable development and enhancing the quality of life for our community. We are looking for a dedicated and experienced professional to lead our Infrastructure Recovery Department.
Additionally, you’ll also …
- Lead and manage the Infrastructure Recovery Department, supporting the General Manager Asset and Environmental Sustainability.
- Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, and best practices. Update Council’s policy framework as necessary.
- Continuously review and improve the department's service culture. Foster service excellence, issue resolution, innovation, and transparent communication.
- Provide expert and timely advice to stakeholders, including the CEO, General Managers, Managers, Mayor, and Councillors.
- Represent Council in discussions and negotiations with Federal and State government agencies, other local governments, private sector proponents, and community members.
- Prepare well-researched briefings, reports, submissions, and correspondence related to the Infrastructure Recovery program.
- Identify, assess, and manage risks associated with the Infrastructure Recovery program.
- Foster team development and support individuals throughout the organization. Promote collaboration both internally and externally.
- Encourage partnerships and drive performance excellence to achieve departmental goals.
- Adhere to Council’s Code of Conduct for Employees, policies, procedures, and the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.
About you…
- Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Engineering, Construction, or a relevant technical discipline.
- Significant Experinece project management within local government or a similar environment.
- Strong organisational skills, financial management, planning, negotiating, and supervision. Ability to solve complex engineering problems.
- Registration as a professional engineer (RPEQ) in Queensland or eligibility to gain registration within 3 months is desired.
- Comprehensive understanding of capital delivery, maintenance, and operations of Local Government Assets, relevant legislation, and disaster funding programs.
- High-level communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Current Queensland C Class driver’s licence and General Construction Induction Card.
