About the position:
This opportunity has arisen due to a review of the City’s organisational structure, which has seen a number of minor changes to our operating model. The scope of this position has altered to focus solely on the critical area of managing the City’s property asset portfolio. Responsible for all aspects of land and property acquisition, ongoing management and disposal, this position will be required to lead and manage a team in the delivery of strategic planning, legislative compliance and the effective project management of both preventative and operational maintenance for all City assets.
Key accountabilities:
Oversee the preparation of an overall budget for the branch that is informed by the development and management of City building assets, a capital works program and a strategic approach to maintenance, land acquisitions and disposal.
Manage the City’s land acquisition, disposal and all statutory compliance processes for all land matters.
Develop the strategic planning and direction of all land use assessment of the City and Crown land holdings.
Develop, implement, monitor and review an Asset Management System for City building assets and facilities.

Position requirements:
The successful candidate will possess a degree in Business, Economics or Project Management with relevant experience, or a lesser qualification with significant experience. Demonstrated experience and skill in leading a high performing multidisciplinary team is required, as is extensive experience in the development of strategic business plans and business cases, budget management and project management.
Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.
Remuneration and benefits:
This role is offered as a five (5) year fixed term negotiated contract. A salary package of up to $163,768 per annum will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
