As Manager, Land Strategy Unit this role is responsible for facilitating the acquisition of land to support the Best Start Best Life (BSBL) reforms and identifies potential site options for early childhood infrastructure where land is likely to be scarce.
Key accountabilities of the Manager include:
- Developing strategic planning processes and documents for land acquisition planning, leasing/licensing, and operational arrangements.
- Providing system-level support to facilitate seamless workflow between teams.
- Support continuous improvement efforts in data and administrative management to ensure compliance with internal process requirements.
- Present senior audiences with options to inform policy and planning exercises, including by outlining benefits, risks and limitations of certain approaches.
- Draft Ministerial briefs and meeting papers, executive summaries, and meeting minutes.
- Program planning and provision of specialist advice on Land Strategy related matters.
- Discrete tasks to support the Best Start, Best Life reforms.
- Building effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, particularly the Property team within VSBA, including chairing meetings and leading communications.
- Facilitation of end-to-end land acquisition processes for early years infrastructure.
- Coordination of site identification analysis including with other government agencies, Councils, private market research to identify suitable sites for land acquisition for early years infrastructure.
- Coordinate land aquisition and disposal analysis to provide recommendations on issues and proposals related to establishing new and expanded early years infrastructure.
- Maintain accurate records and tracking products to support planning and reporting practices across the team, including monitoring and entering complex financial and site information into databases.
Candidates will also be able to demonstrate their ability to work confidently and constructively with key internal/external stakeholders in an expert advisory capacity to ensure the effective delivery of the Best Start, Best Life program.
