The role
In this pivotal role, you'll ensure the strict adherence to defined service quality standards and health safety policies, while providing expert counsel on Medication Safety principles, governance, and quality standards in alignment with national benchmarks. Leading the development, implementation, and review of statewide Medication Safety initiatives, you'll engage diverse stakeholders, achieve project milestones, and mitigate risks effectively, thereby promoting completed initiatives across Queensland.
Your role extends to maintaining robust liaison with senior departmental officers, Hospital and Health Services, and key external stakeholders on Medication Safety issues, conducting research, and analysing critical Medication Safety matters from a Queensland Public Health System perspective. With a keen focus on applying knowledge of the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality Medication Safety Standard (standard 4), along with other relevant standards and legislation , active participation in unit responses, and strong oral and written communication skills for stakeholder engagement, documentation, and reporting, you'll play a pivotal role in advancing Medication Safety practices. Additionally, your commitment to continuous professional development ensures the maintenance of contemporary knowledge within the field.
The successful person
To excel in this position, you must demonstrate proficiency in overseeing clinical projects of considerable scale and complexity across various service lines, utilizing effective project management principles. Additionally, possessing a comprehensive grasp of Medication Safety principles, the legislative framework governing medicines, and the workings of the Queensland Public Health System is crucial for swiftly acquiring pertinent information to address the urgent operational needs of Medication Services Queensland.
Furthermore, you should exhibit advanced problem-solving abilities and adeptness in managing issues, along with the capability to analyse and synthesize information from diverse channels. Your proficiency should extend to leveraging highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, to foster productive relationships with stakeholders. This includes the ability to engage in consultation, negotiation, and conflict resolution, as well as the preparation of project documentation and departmental correspondence.
