About the Department for Correctional Services
The Department employs approximately 2,000 staff and has responsibility for nine prisons and fifteen Community Correctional offices across the state. Our vision is for a safer community by protecting the public and reducing re-offending. Duties
The Manager Offender Services and Case Management is responsible for contributing to the provision of a high quality, cost effective and focussed prisoner crisis intervention and support service within an institutional environment.
This includes contributing to the development of offender programs and services with an emphasis on programs targeting criminogenic needs, prisoner education and vocational training, health, mental health and recreation. The role also provides supervision of administrative functions, as directed. The incumbent is responsible for overseeing the provision of chaplaincy services, co-ordinating the volunteer program, Aboriginal Liaison Officers and engaging the community in the role of prisons and the expected outcomes of Offender Services.
The position also performs the role of Case Management Coordinator which includes the responsibility for a caseload of prisoners within a custodial institution to ensure effective implementation, management and support of Case Management and prisoner welfare.
Special Conditions
- Section 47 of the Public Sector Act 2009 applies in conjunction with other provisions of the act and other applicable industrial entitlements.
- The incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete a National Criminal History Check.
- A current South Australian Driver's Licence is essential.
- A flexible approach to working hours is required.
- Some interstate and intrastate travel will be required which may necessitate overnight absences.
- May be required to work out-of-hours and perform on-call duties to ensure the prison is able to meet operational and critical service needs.

Desirable: Appropriate qualifications in management or human service related disciplines.
Certificate IV in Correctional Practice.
