Manager, Operational Strategy & Transformation

Purpose of the role

Greater Bank and Newcastle Permanent have recently come together to form NGM Group Ltd, a powerhouse in customer-owned banking.

In this newly created role, you’ll lead a small team to develop a centralised Operational Strategy and transformation function for the Lending Operations department, delivering Operational Strategy and transformation initiatives. The function will support the department in its entirely with the implementation of more productive and efficient system improvements/changes, processes, process analytics, and process governance, and will have a strong focus on system transformation in line with the NGM Group Strategic Roadmap. 

What will your key responsibilities include? 

• Developing and implementing the Operational Strategy and Transformation function within Lending Operations.
• Leading and championing Lending Operations process improvement with a focus on establishing people and process frameworks and initiatives to deliver on productivity, continuous improvement, and data-led decision-making.
• As a key member of the Lending Operations Leadership team, actively participating in the development and delivery of the Lending Operations strategy and providing thought leadership to the team on Operational Strategy and Transformation. 
• Providing frameworks and governance to ensure that our demand matches our resources and enables cross-business planning and implementation to provide commercial and customer outcomes.
• Championing a culture of continuous improvement and being customer and data driven.
• Inspiring, leading, and developing a successful team with a common purpose.
• Actively managing key relationships to influence greater people and customer experiences. 

What are we looking for?

• Experience at a senior level in banking/financial services with exposure to mortgage transformation projects and a strong focus on change and process improvement.
• Demonstrated experience in people management including driving team engagement through clarity of purpose and expectations, the provision of ongoing feedback and coaching, plus supporting the team through change as we transform our organization.
• Leadership experience bridging strategy and execution.
• Experience in leading and embedding change including a continuous improvement mindset.
• Knowledge of Agile and Project Management techniques to support implementation.
• Strong business acumen with analytical skills and a high level of attention to detail and ability to identify and monitor trends.
• A strategic, future-focused mindset with demonstrated ability to bring outside-in thinking to provide new perspectives and healthy challenge.
• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as Finance or Business Management (preferred).
