We are looking for a talented Manager, People & Culture to join our People & Culture Team at our Sydney Office in 2024.
The Manager, People & Culture is responsible for developing, maintaining, and implementing systems related to People & Culture across the Michael Cassel Group companies.
Reporting to the Director, People & Culture the Manager, People & Culture is responsible for supporting staff through the employee lifecycle in a way that creates a positive experience for prospective, new, and existing employees.
As the first point of contact the Manager, People & Culture is responsible for recruitment and talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, training and development, performance management, and employee relations.
The Manager, People & Culture is responsible for building a strong, accountable, inclusive, and supportive culture consistent with the Michael Cassel Group ethos of respectful relationships and our mission to inspire audiences by offering them the very best live entertainment experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations- Serve as the initial point of contact to address and proficiently respond to all staff queries.
- Provide advice and support to managers on people related issues.
- Interpret and provide advice on employment policies, processes, and employment conditions.
- Ensure coordinated support of people and culture activities and engagement of employees in Australia, Singapore, and New York.
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance, improve, and streamline established processes, supporting activities as MCG scales globally.
- Establish and manage People & Culture IT administration and record keeping, ensuring records meet compliance requirements.
- Manage all employee information in the company's organisational charts, employee handbook, and MCG website.
- Oversee the entire employment cycle, from recruitment to exit, and continuously seek ways to enhance every aspect of the process.
- Attract and source the best candidates for MCG roles through the MCG's recruitment platform and a variety of channels and hiring sites and guide candidates through the recruitment process.
- Refine, maintain, and coordinate best-in-class onboarding programs for all new hires.
- Support the recruitment/hiring process by formalising background check procedures, aiding in shortlisting, guiding managers in interview techniques, and providing other necessary support.
- Managing MCG’s global recruitment and CV database in respect of corporate and overhead positions.
- Monitor and maintain MCG's presence on the company's recruitment platform, website, and key hiring sites such as LinkedIn.
- Draft employment agreements, personnel forms, and related documents.
- Build a culture of performance through the coordination and the continuous improvement of the Performance Review program inclusive of probationary, mid-year, and annual performance appraisal processes.
- Coordinate training and development programs with participating staff.
- Facilitate mentoring and /or secondment opportunities for employees in support of our Professional Development and Training Program.
- Oversee the company’s online handbook and related policies.
- Manage staff anniversaries and service acknowledgements.
- Coordinate internal communication program with Director, People & Culture, Director, Publicity and CEO.
- Supervise the exit process for departing staff.
- Ensure the effective documentation of all employment related matters.

- Input and contribute to Executive and Board reports as required.
- Provide advice and support in relation to Workplace injuries and illness and our return-to-work plans for employees on workers compensation.
- Assist with additional projects as assigned.
- Other duties as directed.
