As the People, Culture, and Safety Manager, you will lead the charge in fostering a culture of excellence, engagement, and safety across our organisation.   • Develop and implement strategies to boost employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
  • Stay ahead of the curve with the latest trends and best practices in HR, organisational development, and workplace safety.
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment processes, attracting and retaining top-tier talent.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to managers and employees, promoting a culture of excellence and accountability.
  • Champion safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Take the lead on incident investigations, driving timely and effective resolutions.
  • Review and refine existing policies and procedures to ensure alignment with our evolving needs and goals.
  • Identify opportunities for training and development, empowering our team to reach new heights.
  • Spearhead employee benefits and engagement initiatives, from well-being programs to social events that foster a sense of community and belonging.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance throughout the business. 
  • Deliver regular reporting and metrics, keeping stakeholders informed and engaged.
  • Handle HR administrative duties with precision and efficiency.

What are we looking for?

At Varley Transport, we're seeking a dynamic individual who embodies our 'Can-Do' culture and is passionate about driving positive change. If you're a motivated self-starter with a keen eye for detail and a proven track record in HR, safety management & culture, we want to hear from you. Key attributes we are looking for include:

  • Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
  • Certificate IV in Human Resources Management or equivalent.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety legislation, standards, compliance, and risk management.
  • Experience in incident investigation and corrective action implementation.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience in the transport industry is highly desirable.
  • A thirst for knowledge and a commitment to continuous learning.
  • A team player with the ability to connect with individuals at all levels of the organisation.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a drive for accuracy.
  • Demonstrated success in a similar role with a minimum of 5 years experience.
  • A strong understanding of WA Heavy Vehicle Accreditation (desirable).
