Reporting directly to the CEO, an opportunity exists for an experienced and professional individual to take up the fulltime position of Safety and Quality Manager. The key function of the Safety and Quality Manager is to lead Maroomba Airlines, both at managerial and operational levels, in advancing Safety and Quality standards within the business and actively engaging with stakeholders to promote and highlight Maroomba’s commitment to providing a safe and Quality service.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Manage the operation of the Safety Management System;
- Provide technical advice and resources in the field of Safety and Quality;
- Monitor and investigate operational trends, incidents and occurrences;
- Conduct safety investigations including root cause analysis;
- Develop systems, operational policies, procedures and training to comply with client, company and legislative requirements;
- Perform hazard identifications and facilitate the development of and maintain the risk registers;
- Liaise and provide reporting to regulatory agencies as required;
- Manage delivery of organisational Safety programs, including the production and dissemination of audit information to internal personnel and external parties; and
- Delivery of safety related training.
Essential Criteria
- Working knowledge of aviation legislation and airport and airline operational policies and procedures (minimum 2 years);
- Strong leadership and coaching capabilities, to develop the team, while championing a strong Safety and Quality culture throughout the organisation;
- Excellent stakeholder management capabilities;
- Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent experience);
- Training / certification in conducting Safety and compliance audits;
- Experience in Safety and Quality assurance management;
- Working knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health legislation;
- Solid understanding of safety practices and ability to conduct safety training;
- Auditing and risk management experience, inclusive of effective auditing techniques;
- Excellent verbal communication and written skills with strong attention to detail;
- Highly developed planning, organisational and time-management skills;
- Advanced skills with using the Microsoft Office package;
- Work well within a team environment;
- Holds or able to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
Desirable Criteria
- Postgraduate diploma in Occupational Health & Safety;
- Lead Auditors course;
- Previous experience in a similar role in aviation or similar industry;
- Previous experience in using Safety reporting software.
