Manager – Pricing Insights and Execution

The Home Loans Product, Pricing and Credit Risk team (PPCR) has end to end responsibility for the Commonwealth Bank’s home loans business. We support the proprietary and third party sales and service teams to meet our customers’ needs for home finance and advice. Key responsibilities of the team include managing home loans product and features and pricing with a view to achieving the right balance between volume growth and margins, and making the origination and maintenance process simple and easy.

The Home Buying Pricing team sits within PPCR and serves to develop, implement and monitor pricing strategies and initiatives for the Home Buying business. Your contributions will influence one of the nation’s largest Home Loans portfolios and the Bank’s key driver of overall performance.

Do work that matters

This role reports to the Senior Manager, Home Loan Pricing and will focus on developing the pricing team’s capabilities to drive portfolio pricing optimisation, enhance credit risk based pricing outcomes, and support the development, execution and monitoring of pricing strategies and initiatives.

The successful candidate will be results driven with demonstrated commercial acumen, excellent assurance and governance. You will also have strong financial modelling, data analytics and communication skills and a proven ability to solve complex problems in a simple manner, and be expected to partner with other teams to drive better risk and control outcomes.

Your key responsibilities / focus areas will include:

  • Identify and lead pricing initiatives, supported by strong collaboration and effective communication within the Pricing Team and across RBS Home Buying and the support functions
  • Drive strategic pricing outcomes to drive sustainable business results
  • Analysing pricing impacts including maintenance of financial benefits realisation reporting
  • Provide regular financial analysis and deep dives to generate actionable insights to support decision making and that lead to pricing recommendations
  • Monitoring and acting on competitor, regulatory, customer and industry changes
  • Maintaining pricing systems and infrastructure and ensuring we maintain need for flexibility, agility and speed to market as risk and regulatory frameworks continue to change
  • Building and fostering strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders

We’re interested in hearing from people who have:
  • Demonstrated financial analysis skills and ability to perform complex pricing analysis and models
  • Home Buying Product/Pricing experience within a Finance or equivalent discipline will be highly regarded
  • Proven delivery and execution experience with ability to juggle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills
  • Sound commercial acumen and professional judgement with the ability to make recommendations and draw out insights.
  • Degree qualified in a business, finance or scientific field.
